Johnny on the Spot has provided emergency response teams for residential and commercial floods since 1984. Many flooded conditions that can occur are typically covered by insurance, however, some flooding conditions which are referred to as "act of God" type floods may not be covered under your current policy. Those situations usually covered are caused by water flowing from inside the structure caused by a broken pipe, overflowing toilet or sink, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.
Situations not always covered are caused by sump pump failure, rain water seeping through walls and drain back up. It is highly recommended that all homeowners carry a rider to their insurance policy which will cover for act of God type flooding. The cost of such is usually under $100 per year. Some insurance firms allow for such floods with coverage of $2500 to $5000 per occurrence as a part of the standard coverage.
